MEET KALAM
Ka Lam is a Hong Kong-based bridal and celebrity makeup artist with over 22 years of experience. Her professional journey began in 2003 at New York Fashion Week, inspired by Pat McGrath. After earning a Fine Arts degree from the University of Hong Kong, she trained further in London and New York before founding KALAMAKEUP in Central, Hong Kong in 2010.
Since then, Ka Lam has provided makeup and hair styling for over 800 brides across local and destination weddings, alongside top executives, celebrities and fashion shows. Her team of stylists — with her for over 15 years — ensures every client receives the same consistent, detail-obsessed care Ka Lam is known for.
Ka Lam's work has appeared in international editions of Tatler, ELLE and Marie Claire. Kalam did my hair and make up on my wedding day last April and It was brilliant! Given that I am not a make up person and I really need to make sure that I am comfortable and happy with how I look during my big day, I asked Kalam to do a trial and I think it’s a good decision to do so. She did two amazing looks during the trial which makes it so hard for me to chose from so I ended up doing it both. One during the day time and the other one is for the evening look. The trial also proved that she’s using good quality products since it did last all day ( morning till evening) and also my skin didn’t react which normally happen if i put make up on. Kalam listened with what look I want which is “natural look” and of course it exceeded my expectations. My family and friends adores my look during my big day. It was such a special day for me and Kalam made it extra special because I felt so beautiful with her work. I love, so love my hair.
